Matsu
‘Matsu’ is Japans voor ‘wachten’. Een eerbetoon aan alle wijnboeren die al generaties lang met veel inzet en wijsheid werken in de wijngaard. De wijnen van Matsu komen van 70-100 jaar oude wijngaarden die volgens traditionele en biodynamische methoden worden bewerkt. Met respect voor de de natuur en de getijden. Alles om het stevige karakter van de D.O. Toro tot uiting te laten komen gecombineerd met een ongekende elegantie. De Matsu wijnen zijn:

“Rubi red colour. Notes of chocolate, black fruits and vanilla. Intense. Round and silky, very unctuous with subtle hints of the glycerine. Touches of fruits linger in the after taste as do mineral notes. Full body wine, yet at the same time very easy to drink.”

“A deep cherry color, high lamina, with violet colored notes in its border. Very intense nose with mature black fruit aromas, well integrated with the toasted, spiced and smoked notes. Corpulent with very mature and round tannins that give its sweetnes. In the long and persistent aftertaste appear once again mature fruit perfectly assembled with the roasted character of the wood.”

Vintae
Het wereldberoemde Matsu is een creatie van de innovatieve wijnmakers van Vintae. In kort de geschiedenis. In 1999 besloot José Miguel Arambarri om het werk van zijn voorouders in de Rioja voort te zetten. Hij plantte zijn eerste wijngaard en samen met zijn zoons begonnen ze aan een reis met een duidelijke missie: ‘To innovate the wine market’. Inmiddels is Vintae uitgegroeid tot een wijn bedrijf met meer dan 50 werknemers met productie van wijnen uit 15 D.O.’s in Spanje.
